Today I would like to share with you our experience at the METS Show which took place in Amsterdam Rai from 15 to 17 November.

Many of you most probably are familiar with Dusseldorf and Genova boat show, well the METS exhibition is something slightly different. We talking about the world’s largest trade exhibition of marine equipment for materials and systems, B2B exhibition for the marine leisure industry, serving as a platform for innovation, market developments and networking since their launch in 1988. In addition to the overall leisure marine industry, METS cater for three specialist sectors, namely super yachts, marinas and Yards and construction materials.

The location is the well known RAI exhibition center in Amsterdam, reachable from the city center in 30 minutes by car or transportation. As I mentioned before, this year there were three specialised pavilions dedicated to super yachts, marinas and yards and construction materials.

As Sailing Nomads, we’ve focused our visit to the businesses which were presenting innovative products. It really surprised me to see a lot of start-ups and a lot of interesting new technologies besides the well-known giants of the marine equipment sector.

In particular, I would like to mention, Powerup-tech.com, In short, you can produce energy through hydrogen fuel cell based smart generator. The kit is a small generator which can placed in really tiny spaces onboard and a hydrogen cylinder, depending on different models the system can produce around one day of energy with one cylinder. Powerup-tech.com constantly expanding their network, making possible to replace the cylinder in many locations in the Mediterranean at the moment but they have partners worldwide, therefore with their assistance will be always possible to get a new refill wherever you are.
